RICKY LYNN STRAYHORN Seminole resident, Ricky Lynn Strayhorn, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023, in Seminole. Ricky, the son of Donald and Helen (Coates) Strayhorn, was born May 13, 1959 in Konawa. He graduated with the Seminole High School class of 1977. After graduating Ricky went to work for Exxon Mobile as a mechanic, launching what became a 40 year career. On June 26, 2004, he married Janet Dockery, in Shawnee, Okla. Ricky enjoyed his motorcycle, whether that meant riding or working on it. As much as he loved his motorcycle, there was nothing more important to Ricky as his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Ray Strayhorn Jr., and Helen Faye Strayhorn; and a grandson, Ezekiel. Ricky is survived by his wife, Janet, of the home; a son, Cody Strayhorn, of Enid; a daughter, Tori Strayhorn, of Denton, Texas; with three additional children that joined his union with Janet, Mickey Dockery, Brian Dockery, and Natasha Parks, all of Seminole; a sister, Donna Garrett, of Texarkana, Texas, and a brother, David Strayhorn, of Guthrie; many grandchildren and great-grandchild; and numerous other family members and many friends. Services were Monday, July 24, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole with Carl Whitfield officiating. Interment followed at Maple Grove Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
