Ricky Wade Taylor, 48, of Creve Coeur, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at OSF Divine Mercy Continuing Care Hospital in Peoria, Illinois.
He was born on September 26, 1977, in Peoria, the son of Charles and Velta Mitchell Taylor. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Surviving are Monica Diver, with whom he lived with for the past nine years, along with his son Tobias Wade Taylor from Peoria, and his grandson Kayden Wade Taylor. He is also survived by his father Charles Taylor of Washington, IL, Monica's children, Zachary Ellington and Derrick Diver both of Creve Coeur, four siblings-Angela Taylor of Creve Coeur, IL, Charles (Jackie) Taylor Jr. of Varna, IL, Michael Taylor of Creve Coeur, IL, and Amy Taylor of Washington, IL-nieces and nephews, Erik Stewart, Jacob Stewart, Olivia England, Whitney Taylor, Nathan Taylor, Taya Janson, Alyssa Janson, Amber Lykins, James Lykins and Melanie Lykins along with a many cousins.
He has spent many years working as a cab and limo driver. But at his core, he's an artist who truly enjoys woodworking, wildlife photography, and creating pencil drawings.
A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 4 pm to 6 pm, with a service to follow at 6 pm, all taking place at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. After the service, cremation will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be donated to the United Stroke Alliance, 8000 N. University St., Peoria, IL 61615.
