Rita Bourgea Obituary
Rita M. (Connors) Bourgea, age 92, of Lowell, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away Friday, November 4, 2022 at Fairhaven Healthcare Centre in Lowell, following an extended illness.
She was the beloved wife of Leo E. Bourgea, who passed away September 23, 1981.
Born in Lowell on January 5, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Connors and the late Margaret (Garrity) Connors.
Rita was raised in Lowell and graduated from the former Keith Hall Parochial High School in 1949.
She resided in North Tewksbury for 21 years during which time she attended St. Robert Bellarmine Church in West Andover. In 1994, she returned to Lowell, where she lived for the past 28 years.
Rita enjoyed vacationing in West Palm, Florida, playing golf and bowling with her friends, as well as playing Bingo at St. William's Church in Tewksbury and at the former Sacred Heart Church in Lowell.
She is survived by her two sons, James Bourgea, of Lowell and Steven J. Bourgea and his wife Joanne (McNamara), of Tewksbury: three grandsons, Joseph, Tyler and Owen Bourgea, all of Tewksbury.
Family and friends are invited to attend her graveside service on Wednesday, November 9th, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Cemetery, Section 6, 90 River Road, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452 or online at www.alz.org.
