Rita Elaine Bullock

Rita Elaine Bullock, 76, of Sumter, South Carolina, peacefully passed away on October 23, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born on June 8, 1949, in Sumter, Rita was the daughter of Bernice Harvin Ramsey and the late Frankie Lee Ramsey.
Rita grew up in Sumter and was educated in the public schools before attending Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina, where she earned her degree. She dedicated over 28 years of her professional life as a Social Worker with the State of South Carolina, where her compassion, patience, and kindness impacted countless families.
A faithful Jehovah's Witness for more than 50 years, Rita found deep joy in her service to Jehovah God as a dedicated pioneer for over 22 years, sharing her faith and helping others come to know the same comfort and hope that guided her own life.
Rita will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her selfless heart, and her endless love for family and friends. She was always helping, encouraging, and giving of herself so others could feel supported and cared for.
She was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose compassion and strength left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Rita was united in marriage to Abraham Bullock, her loving husband of 54 years. Through their union, she leaves to cherish her memory two devoted daughters: Nikita Lewis (Michael) and Morgan Unuovorhaye (Daniel); one beloved granddaughter, Jada Elaine, and one cherished grandson, Na'eem. A special granddaughter in love, MyKayla DeLissa.
She is also survived by her mother, Bernice Harvin Ramsey, and her siblings: Frankie Ramsey, Danny Ramsey (Karen), Rae Jean Ramsey, and Johnnie Ramsey, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who adored her.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Ramsey.
A memorial gathering to celebrate her life will be announced at a later date.
Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
