Rita A. Cisler, 92, of Manitowoc passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025 at Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Rita was born on May 10, 1932 in Sturgeon Bay to Clarence "Buckets" and Ann (Feller) Poehls. She attended schools in Manitowoc, graduating with the class of 1950 from Lincoln High School. On September 1, 1956, she married Allen J. Cisler, he preceded her death on December 27, 1966. Rita was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and doing puzzles. Rita worked at Copp's Bakery until her retirement, during her time at Copp's, she met Cheryl Kiel and Joany Brault. They became friends ever since. Rita always looked forward to Bobby's chicken soup and Joany's zucchini bread.
Rita is survived by one son: Michael Cisler, FL; son-in-law: David Witt, Valders; four grandchildren: Elliott (Elizabeth) Swetlik, Manitowoc, Sarah (life partner Troy Kubsh) Swetlik, Two Rivers, Derek Skor, Green Bay, and Tiffany Cisler, FL; one great-granddaughter: Aria Kubsh, Two Rivers; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Wayne (Joyce) Cisler, Manitowoc, and Leah Simmons, Manitowoc; and two very special friends: Joany Brault, Two Rivers, and Cheryl Kiel, Manitowoc. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rita was preceded in death by her parents: Clarence and Ann Poehls; her husband: Allen Cisler; one daughter: Susan Witt; two sons: Richard Cisler, and John "Yak" Cisler; and three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Milton (Janet) Cisler, Calla (Richard) Spevacek, and Karen (David) Hartman.
A memorial service to celebrate Rita's life will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025 at 6:00 pm at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 920 S.14th Street, with Deacon Al Boeldt officiating. Relatives and friends can greet the family on Monday, February 10, 2025 at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
