David N Cisler, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away April 29, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Kimberly (Tullius), his daughter Tracy Orr (Corey), his stepson Jason Torpy (Krista Cox) and his adored grandson Cooper. He was preceded in death by his father Jake and mother Norma Cisler and his brother Jeffrey Cisler.
David was an avid Sherlockian, host of the-diogenesclub.com, a top-rated Sherlock Holmes website, and curator of a large personal collection of first edition books and 19th century publications. He added to the Sherlock universe by publishing several stories of his own.
David spent his early twenties as a traveling musician with his brother and friends in the band Quintessence. They left the road and opened a music store in Marietta called Cisler’s Musicat, supporting area music with instruments and tutoring. He continued playing in many local bands throughout his lifetime.
David returned to school and earned a master’s degree and worked as a Licensed Social Worker in mental and behavioral health at the Washington County Juvenile Court and Westbrook Health Services. He retired from Westbrook and consulted for Harmony Ridge in his retirement.
Services will be held Sunday, May 4th at 1 PM at Roberts Funeral Home, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta, OH 45750. Visitation will be from 11 AM until the time of the service.
