It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing our beloved wife, mother, and grandma, Rita Jane "Janie" Conard. Janie passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Cox South Medical Center after a long hard battle with cancer. Janie was born on June 6, 1956, in Fairfax, Missouri, to the late Samuel Gilbert and Virginia Lewis "Jenny" (Meadors) Johnson. On December 6, 1974, Janie was united in marriage to Ronald Dale Conard. To this union two sons were born, Bradley and Brian. Janie was a member of the Fairfax Baptist Church. Janie was a devoted homemaker to her beloved family. She found great joy in being the best wife, mom, and grandma. She enjoyed sewing, she was a bit of a seamstress, making many articles of clothing throughout the years including the bridesmaid dresses for her wedding. She loved to collect Christmas Villages, completing three sets. She also adored pitcher and basin sets, collecting many in recent years. Our Janie was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. We will hold close our precious memories. Janie was preceded by her parents Samuel Gilbert and Virginia Johnson, and brother Samuel Johnson. She is survived by her husband Ron Conard, sons Bradley Conard and wife Laura, and Brian Conard, three grandchildren; Steven, Chloe, and William Conard. A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Friday, November 14, 2025 at the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home in Buffalo, Missouri. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home, Buffalo, Missouri.
