Rita Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dello Russo Funeral Home - Medford on Jan. 18, 2026.
Rita (Dorsi) Davis passed away peacefully at the Community Hospice House of Merrimack, NH on Thursday January 15th. She was 97. Born and raised in Medford, Rita was the daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Balastrini) Dorsi.

A life-long resident of Medford, Rita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. As a young woman, she worked at John Hancock Insurance in Boston, but as she and her late husband William began their family, she devoted herself to raising her children and caring for her home. She made her home a warm and welcoming place for her family and friends. She also enjoyed reading and knitting. An active woman throughout her life, Rita enjoyed travelling with family and friends. She loved spending the day at Revere Beach or taking a week at the Sea Crest on Cape Cod. Rita also cared for her older sisters at home and could often be found out walking in the neighborhood or on the bus going about her errands. For the past few years she was part of the Hunt Community in Nashua where she was an active member and made many friendships in these last few years of her life.

The beloved wife of the late William R. Davis who passed away in 2010, Rita was the devoted mother of Francine Rodina and her husband Tom, Valerie Flannery and her husband Paul, Anthony Davis and his wife Tammy, Bill Davis and his wife Diane and the late Donna Shields and her late husband David. She was a loving grandmother to Steven, Holly, Lisa, Davis, Bobby, Zachary, Amanda and Alexander. She was a loving great-grandmother to Alyssa, Parker, William, Brooklyn, Charlotte, Tyler, Emerson, Eloise, Lily, Allison and Josie. Rita was preceded in death by her dear sisters, Evelyn and Annette Dorsi.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 21st from 9 – 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford at 11 AM.
