Rita E. Dunleavy

Rita Elaine Dunleavy, 87, born April 4, 1935 in Dorchester, Massachusetts passed away peacefully at her home on June 2, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
The oldest of seven siblings, she grew up in a lively household and got into plenty of mischief with her sister, Claire. She married her workplace sweetheart, Charlie, with whom she enjoyed 55 blissful years together. She was an avid reader, Scrabble player, and crossword-puzzle solver. She loved her visits to the island of Nantucket and the mountains of the Adirondacks, as well as other spots around the world. She took great joy in the raising of her children and doted on her grandchildren. She was a wonderful listener and advice giver and enjoyed long-lasting friendships from all stages of her life.
She is survived by her loving husband, Charlie, and their three children, Elizabeth, Charles (Kathryn), and Laura (Jonathan) Nelms, and three grandchildren, Chloe & Leyla Nelms and Alden Dunleavy, as well as her siblings, Paul, Peter, John, Denis and David. Her sister, Claire, preceded her in death.
Her service will be held on Thrsday, June 9, 2022 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church,235 E. State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 where she was a faithful parishioner, with a viewing starting at 9:30 am, followed by a mass at 10:30 am.
Interment will follow in Doylestown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, charitable gifts in Rita's name may be sent to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
