Rita Fouts Obituary

Rita Catherine Fouts
Big Rapids, Michigan
09/17/1956 - 08/13/2025
Rita Catherine Fouts, 68, of Big Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at The Orchards of Big Rapids.
She was born September 17, 1956, in Hart, Michigan, the daughter of Cleon and Nora (Bosse) Walker. Rita was adopted and raised by her aunt and uncle, Kenneth and Lavine Bosse.
Rita earned her bachelor's degree and went on to earn her religious education degree in Hannibal, Missouri. In the mid-1990s, she moved to Big Rapids, where she built a quiet but meaningful life surrounded by faith, friends, and her beloved animals. Rita worked as a CNA where she enjoyed caring for and helping people.
She loved music, movies, reading her Bible, and watching the Game Show Channel. A gentle, private, and faithful woman, Rita was an introvert who cherished close friendships and was a loyal, dependable presence in the lives of those who knew her. She had a special place in her heart for cats and dogs.
Rita was a devoted member of Trinity Fellowship Church in Big Rapids, where she regularly attended services and participated in Bible study with a circle of dear friends.
She is survived by her brother, Rick Bosse, with whom she shared countless hours of daily phone conversations, as well as several good friends who will deeply miss her steady kindness.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 18, at Trinity Fellowship Church in Big Rapids. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ARC (Animal Rescue Coalition) of Mecosta County.
