Rita Joan Hawkins

June 30, 1945 – June 8, 2025

Rita Joan Hawkins, 79, of Paoli, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on June 8th, surrounded by the love of her family.

Rita was born on June 30, 1945, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to Adell and Leonard Warren. On October 2, 1962, she married the love of her life, Larry Hawkins. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to family.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Hawkins; her sister Debbie George and husband David; her daughter Lisa McIntyre and husband Steven; and her son Eric Hawkins and wife Landa. Rita was a proud and loving grandmother to Melinda (and husband Brian), Caroline (and husband Matt), Hayden (and husband Jazper), and Taylor. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Emelyn, Graham, Sadie, Wyatt, Avie, and Molly.

She is also lovingly remembered by her niece Alisa George, nephew Aaron George, great-niece Aava George, a host of other nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as two beloved brothers-in-law.

Rita had a generous heart and a special gift for making others feel cared for. She was especially known for her handmade "corn bags," which she lovingly crafted and shared not only with her family, but also with friends and even friends of her grandchildren. These thoughtful gifts were just one of the many ways she showed her love.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kindness, warmth, and the lasting impact she had on all who knew her.

Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, June 13, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Paoli Cemetery officiated by Pastor Keith Huitt. Interment will be at Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. We invite you to send words of comfort to the family at www.stufflebeanfuneralhome.com.
