With profound sorrow and grateful hearts, we announce the passing of Rita A. (nee Doering) Henze, who departed this life on September 20, 2025, at the age of 99. Born on April 20, 1926, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Frank and late Flora (nee Brackman) Doering. Rita lived a vibrant life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to her family.

Rita, the beloved wife of the late Melvin H. Henze. Devoted mother of Marie Henze, the late Melvin L. Henze and the late Patricia "Pat" Henze. Loving grandmother of Kate Henze, Mike (Angel) Fasbender, Tony (Rachel) Fasbender, Kellie (Billy) Thornberry and Kris (Kathie) Koch. Great grandmother of Ryan, William, Elissa, Josh, Caitlyn, Alaina, Cole, Jessica, Jimmy, Creed, Destiny, Isabella, Tevin, Jackson and Cameron. Great great grandmother of John, Arthur and Declan. Rita was preceded in death by her three brothers and four sisters, who surely greeted her with open arms.

Throughout her life, Rita embraced the joys of travel and found solace in her garden's blooms. She possessed a unique talent for sewing, stitching together not just fabric but the fabric of her family's memories. For Rita, family was an enduring anchor, and she poured her love into every moment spent with loved ones, creating a legacy of warmth and togetherness.

A visitation in Rita's honor will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, 2553 Banning Rd. on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 9:30 AM- 10:30 AM, inviting friends and family to gather and share in the warmth of her memory. A Mass celebrating Rita's life will follow at St. James Church - White Oak at 11:00 AM, where we will reflect on the impact of her life and the love she shared with all. She will be laid to rest following Mass at St. James Cemetery, in a final resting place that reflects the love of her family.
