Rita Vivian Keller, 83, of Moon Township, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2024. She was born in Rome, New York, July 3, 1941 to the late John and Mary DiDone.
Rita was a kind and generous soul who found joy in the simplest pleasures of life. An avid reader, she spent countless hours at the Moon Township Library, where she also shared her love of crafting by donating her beautifully crocheted and knitted blankets. Her hands were never idle, always creating something to warm the hearts of others. Rita had a special gift with children, and her nurturing nature made her a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family fondly remembers her as the cherished "Nonnie" who always had a loving embrace and a kind word for each of them.
Rita is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Richard Keller; her children, Richard (Annette) Keller, Pamela E. (Robert) Gray, and Jennifer M. Keller; her dear brother, Don DiDone; her grandchildren, Andrea (Art) Intrieri, Brittany (Matt) Millach, Stephen (Sarah) Keller, Miranda Gray, Jacob Gray, and Deanna Gray; and her great-grandchildren, Grace Intrieri, Michalena Keller, and Amelia Keller. Rita is also survived by several nieces and nephews, who held her in great affection. She was preceded in death by her son Gary F. Keller and her granddaughter Amanda G. Keller.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rita's life on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136. Private inurnment will be held at a later time at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
Rita's warmth, generosity, and love for her family and community will be deeply missed, but her legacy of kindness and caring will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
