Rita was born October 18, 1931, in Chester, SD to Gerald and Ann Christensen Fitzgerald.

She attended high school in Rapid City, SD, where she met the love of her life, Rollie Lowe. They were married in 1948.

Rollie and Rita moved to Kansas City, MO in 1950 and then to Liberty, MO in 1962.  She was a member of Saint James Catholic Church in Liberty.  She owned her own beauty salon, Clip & Curl in Liberty for several years.  In 1973 the couple moved to Las Vegas, NV where Rita worked as a cashier for Circus Circus Hotel and Casino Restaurants.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, Carol Rogers, Colleen Simpson, and Patricia Messig, and her great granddaughter, Whitney Ann Booth.

Among those who survive and gratefully shared her life are her daughters, Sandra (Barry) White, Debby (Ralph) Massie, and her son, (RD) Rolland (Glenda) Lowe, Jr., ten grandchildren survive Rita and nine great grandchildren who fondly called her Gramma Reete.  Her remaining siblings are sisters, Barbara Seed and Janice Jones, and her brother, Jim (Cheryl) Fitzgerald. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

God bless everybody for the love and support within our family that has been expressed throughout these last few weeks for our mom, mother-in-law, grandma, great grandma, sister, and auntie. Mom loves all of us dearly as we do her.

Rita passed away November 29, 2023.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am, on Thursday, December 7, at Saint James Catholic Church, Liberty.  Interment will be in Glenridge Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
