Brian Lee Sass, 65, of North Kansas City, MO, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 22, 2026, at North Kansas City Hospital.
Born on November 27, 1960, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Donald and Marilyn (Ethridge) Sass, He was a proud 1978 graduate of Basehor-Linwood High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Art in Journalism from the University of Kansas in Lawrence.
Brian was a dedicated writer and an avid reader, passionate about literature and authorship, having penned several books himself. A man of strong faith, he found joy and comfort in listening to Christian music. He was also a devoted NASCAR enthusiast and cherished the time spent cruising the Caribbean with his beloved wife, Lisa.
He leaves behind his wife Lisa; his stepchildren, Stephen Harper (Chelsea) and Jenny Eckersley; five grandchildren: Ryan Harper, Derek Eckersley, Sophia Harper, Dalton Eckersley, and Christian Harper; his stepmother, Barbara Sass.
A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 Route 291 Hwy, Liberty, MO 64068, immediately followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at the Missouri City Cemetery in Missouri City, MO.
