Rita Wade McCurdy, 63, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, while surrounded by her family at home in Bryant, AL.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rita's life on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM ET at the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Let's celebrate the life of a woman who was, in every sense, loving, dedicated, reliable, and loyal. The world may have lost a great soul, but her spirit lives on in the lives she touched and the love she shared.
She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and aunt and she dearly loved her family. She graced our lives with her warm presence, captivating charisma, and welcoming smile. Rita was a loving soul whose love for watching her children and grandchildren play sports was only outmatched by her love for her family and the countless lives she touched with her dedication and commitment. Rita was a reliable, loyal friend, and a dedicated family member. Rita's light will continue to shine in the hearts of those she left behind.
She is survived by her children, Barry (Aubree) McCurdy and Alicia (Billy) Williams; her partner in later years, James Hammock; her sister, Terri (Dale) Cloud; her grandchildren, Cody and Landon Williams, and Brandt, Addie, and Mack McCurdy; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Rex McCurdy, her father, Marvin Wade, and her mother, Myrtle Godwin Wade.
In remembrance of Rita, we encourage you to share your memories, anecdotes, and photos on her memorial page at www.MooreFHS.com.
The family would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Beverly Floyd, Natalie Williams, and Erin Johnson for their compassionate care during Rita's final days.
