Rita A. McCurry

Rita A. McCurry, age 86, of Shelton, passed away, February 28, 2026 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Long Island City, NY to Richard and Helen Pulkoski. Rita dedicated her life to nurturing, guiding, and loving her family. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and open doors-where no one left hungry and everyone felt welcome. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her generous heart, and her unwavering devotion to those she loved.

She is survived by her children, Michele Dalvano and her husband John of Watertown, Theresa Bryan of Monroe, Michael Jr., and his wife Jody of Branchburg, NJ, Walter McCurry of Shelton, Eileen Geier and her husband Timothy of Milford, Vin McCurry and his wife Keri of Colchester, Colleen Hough of Milford, and Toni Egan and her husband Terry Egan of Haddonfield, NJ; her grandchildren, John (Maegan), Matthew (Michelle), Jennifer, Jessica, Michael, Kelly, Jaime (Vito), Caitlin, Daniel (Jill), Samuel (Jessica), Benjamin, Ryan and Patrick, Lilly and Fionn; her great-grandchildren, Dafina, John Jr., Millie and Max.

She was predeceased by her husband Michael Sr., her brother Richard Pulkoski and sister Jaquie Grosz.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, March 4, at 9:30 a.m. directly at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Shelton Rd. Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull.
