John Joseph Urbanczyk

JJohn Joseph Urbanczyk, of Shelton, age 84, entered into rest on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Apple Rehab Hewitt in Shelton. He is the beloved husband of forty years to Mary (McCaffrey) Urbanczyk. John was born in Derby on October 18, 1941, son of the late John Joseph Urbanczyk Sr. and Jean (Krupa) Urbanczyk, and was a lifelong Shelton resident

He was a long time employee of Kerite Co. in Seymour. John enjoyed fishing, dancing, Yankees baseball, and NY Giants football.

He is the beloved father of Pam Lockwood and her husband Woody, Linda Urbanczyk, and Karen Bisset, and step-father of the late Elaine Hanna and her husband Bert Nelson, Patrick Hanna, and the late Geraldine Carson. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Vanessa St. John, Elissa Barche, Madison Frake, Matthew Nicolari, Marissa Nicolari, Sheenagh Caridi, Kaley Krajewski, and Seamus Ridgeway, his great-grandchildren Layla St. John, Thomas Barche, Addilynn Barche, Matthew J Nicolari, and Elliott Nicolari, his siblings Eileen Craig and her husband Tom, Carol Carotenuto, and William Urbanczyk and his wife Mickey, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Tara Sullivan, and three siblings, Margaret, Thomas, and Richard Urbanczyk.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane, Shelton at 11 AM. The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
