Rita C. (Leboeuf) Mulroy, age 100, of New Bedford passed away at Hope Health Hospice Center on June 20, 2025.
She was the wife of the late Anthony G. Mulroy.
Born and raised in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Eugenie (Alexandre) Leboeuf, and sister of the late Pauline Constant. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School, class of 1943.
She was formerly employed as a library assistant at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth for over 20 years until her retirement.
Rita enjoyed volunteering at Alden Court Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Fairhaven bringing the residents much joy with her push cart filled with small personal items, stuffed animals and tasty treats. She also enjoyed playing Bingo, bowling in a women's league for many years, trips to Foxwoods and spending time with her family and friends.
She was a member of the Ladies Guild and the A.C.A. Society at the Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and a member of the St.Theresa Seniors group.
Survivors include her son, Richard Mulroy and his companion Cathleen Ormonde of Dartmouth; a daughter, Peggy Barry and her husband Edward of Dartmouth, 3 grandchildren, Meagan Mulroy, Adam Barry and Benjamin Barry and 4 great-grandchildren, Henry Barry, Gavin Barry,Hannah Barry and Hailey Barry.
She was the mother of the late Paul Mulroy.
Her Funeral will be held on Monday, June 30th at 10:00AM in Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 121 Mount Pleasant St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
