Mary Lynn (Finazzo) Neves of Dartmouth passed away peacefully at home on September 28, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Donald J. Neves with whom she shared a loving, dedicated marriage for 53 years.

Mary was born in Potsdam, New York in 1953 to John and Elizabeth (Bryant) Finazzo, the third of seven children.

She was a life-long learner, earning a degree in Nursing, a Bachelors degree in Public Health and a Masters degree in Nurse Administration. She often enjoyed reading books that challenged her intellect and increased her vocabulary.

Mary spent the majority of her career at St. Luke's Hospital beginning as a Nurse's Aide in 1972, then as a Staff Nurse, Nurse manager, Supervisor and her last role as the Director of Physician Relations for Southcoast Hospitals Group before retiring in 2012. She had a passion for the health of the general public, a genuine care and compassion for her patients and had a clear, open-door communication approach as a leader.

Mary was dedicated to her family attending every one of her son Tom's sporting events and her grandchildren's musical performances. She enjoyed walking, exercising and singing - she was in the church choir at St. Francis of Assisi Church for decades and even had the opportunity to sing for Mother Teresa on her visit to New Bedford. She enjoyed volunteering her time with seniors at the Dartmouth Council on Aging.

Mary is survived by her husband Donald; her son, Tom Neves and his wife Stacey and their children Haley and Jackson; her siblings, Terrance Finazzo, Anthony Finazzo, Jeff Finazzo, Valeria Sochia, and Sheila Dishaw; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her eldest sister Anne Green.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday October 1st at 10 AM at St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday September 30th from 4-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org/donate.
