Rita M. Parlin, age 93, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at her home in Austin. Rita Marie Arland was born on September 28, 1931, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Raymond and Irene (Neary) Arland. She graduated from Wilson High School in 1949. Rita met Leonard George Parlin at the Club With No Name - the couple enjoyed dancing and attended church youth group together. On March 31, 1951, Rita and Leonard were united in marriage at St. Columba Catholic Church in St. Paul. The couple made their home in Austin, Minnesota, where Rita raised their ten children in a home filled with love and faith. She was a longtime member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church, served a term as the CCW president, and along with Leonard, was active in the Christian Family Movement. Rita enjoyed reading, gardening, dancing, and camping with her family. She especially loved family get togethers and serving her famous grasshopper pie. Through her strong faith we know she is reunited in heaven with Leonard and her Lord.
