Ritchie Lynn Carpenter, 63, of Owingsville passed away peacefully Saturday August 30, 2025 at the UK Hospital in Lexington after a short illness with his family by his side.  He was born February 15, 1962 to the late William "Bill" and Dorothy Goldie Carpenter. 

Ritchie grew up farming with his family and then onto being a truck driver for 30 years. He enjoyed farming, watching westerns and spending time with his family and his beloved dog Daisy. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Greg and Lonnie Carpenter. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Patricia "Patty" White Carpenter, two children, Tina Donathan (Charlie), of Owingsville and Travis Carpenter (Sharon) of Mt. Sterling, Three grandsons, Charles "Hunter" Donathan (Madyson), Mason Donathan (Rileigh) and Dalton Donathan, two sisters, Carolyn Elliott and Shirley Turley both of Mt. Sterling, one brother, William "Billy" Carpenter (Diane) of Owingsville along with a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, September 6, 2025 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Pastor Charles Hammer "McGuire" officiating.

Burial will follow at the Kendall Springs Cemetery. 

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville will be from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday, September 5, 2025. 

Pallbearers include, son-in-law, Charlie Donathan, grandsons, Hunter, Mason and Dalton Donathan, nephew, Mikey Carpenter and great nephew, Austin Neff.
