Arnold Stacy. Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Richardson Funeral Home on Feb. 3, 2026.
Arnold Stacy Jr., age 87 of Owingsville, passed away on February 2 at UK St. Claire in Morehead, Kentucky. He was a faithful member of Owingsville Baptist Church for over 80 years, where he served devotedly as a deacon.

He dedicated his professional career to education, serving as a principal of Bath County High School and later as Director of Pupil Personnel for the Bath County Board of Education. His work shaped countless lives, and he remained proud of his calling as an educator throughout his life. He was also a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association.

Deeply invested in his community, he was an active member of the Lions Club, always willing to help where there was a need. Beyond his service, he enjoyed life's simple and meaningful pleasures. He loved fishing, and was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan. He cherished time spent with those he loved most. His greatest joy came from his family, and he was especially proud of his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.

Arnold will be remembered as a man of integrity, strength and faith – a devoted Christian, educator, community leader and a loving family man. He will leave behind a legacy of faith, leadership, hard work and love.

He is survived by two daughters; Jennifer Stacy and her husband, John Stacy-Brandenburgh of Owingsville and Jessica Stacy Beasley and her husband, Barry of Lawrenceburg; two sisters, Violet Becraft and Fern Bailey; seven grandchildren, Jacoby Kender, Isabella Kender, Aligh Beasley, Whitney McCormick, Cannon Beasley, Shade Stacy – Brandenburgh and Gabrielle Stacy – Brandenburgh; three great grandchildren, Colt McCormick, Olivia McCormick and Blake Beasley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ester Catteron Stacy; one brother, Reynold Stacy; three sisters, Grace Taulbee, Rose reed and Pansy Swartz.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 9 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Owingsville Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Owingsville Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Bailey officiating. Family and friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Sunrise Children's Services, 180 KY 801 Morehead, KY 40351.
