James Robert “Robbie” Moon, 60, of Bear Creek, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026 at his home. He was born in Moore County on July 22, 1965.
Robbie was formerly employed at Collins & Aikman and Ingersoll Rand. He was a NASCAR and Tar Heel fan and enjoyed fishing, golf, westerns and old cars. Robbie enjoyed time with his family and his dogs, Newly and Suzy Lu.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Iris Moon; his father, Robert Anthony Moon and his step-father, Tom Purvis.
Robbie is survived by his life partner, Helen B. Moore, of the home; son, Austin Moon (Rebekah), of Hendersonville; step-sons, Steven and Brandon Phillips; step-daughter, Stephanie Moore; his mother, Doris Phillips Purvis, of High Falls; grandchildren, Wyatt Phillips, Alburey Phillips, McKenlee Provenzano, Stephen Moore and Alex Beardsly; extended family, Betty Teague, James Teague, Jeff Teague and Michael Brafford and a host of family and friends.
Services will be held at a later date.
