Greece: passed away on October 20 2022 at age 84, with courage and dignity and with his loving wife of 28 years, Veronica Agostinelli, by his side. His spirit was released from his tired body and is now exploring the heavens. Bob is survived by children Peter Agostinelli (predeceased wife Michelle), David Agostinelli and Karen Agostinelli. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Monica Savino (Walt Martin), Donna Whitmore (Andrew), Andrea Quaranto (Larry), and Dyane Savino (James Williams); two brothers Richard Agostinelli (Valerie) and John Agostinelli (Teresa); 8 beautiful grandchildren (Katie, Erin, Megan, Emma, Hali, Michael, Alexandra and Mackenzie) and two great grandchildren whom he loved and adored; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Our family cannot express in words our gratitude for the love and care provided by our dear friend Mary Resch in the last few months. As a nurse, Mary worked with Bob for many years and her expertise and love were a true gift to all of us. Survived also by his good friends and partners in practice, Bernard Farnand, and Tim Nolan who were always just a phone call away when Bob needed them.
Bob was a graduate of Aquinas High School and received his BS from St. John Fisher College. He received his medical degree at Marquette University and performed his internship and residency at Rochester General Hospital. A major in the Vietnam War, he was stationed in Phu Bai where he served as a physician for one year. Dedicated to his patients, Bob was a most beloved and respected physician for over 50 years in Rochester, NY. He touched the lives of so many over his extensive career. You could find Bob searching for the next perfect bottle of wine to share with his family and friends for Sunday dinner and enjoying the views from their lake home in Canandaigua. Bob and Ronnie traveled the world extensively and were so grateful for those times together. Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Bob's life in their own way. Raising a glass of their favorite wine in his memory would be quite appropriate. You know if you asked him if he'd like a glass, his answer would be "Does a bear shit in the woods". He lived out his values of hard work and family above all and every day. His family was his circle of strength, and he will be deeply missed.
No prior calling. His Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday (November 19th) at 11 o'clock at Our Mother of Sorrows Church at 5000 Mt Read Blvd, Rochester, New York 14612.
