Robert Michael Allen (Red)
November 26, 1996 – August 6, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our son, brother, and friend Robert. He was the son of Michael Andrew Allen and Julie Ann Thomsen Allen. Robert was conceived in Hawaii while his mother and father were on their honeymoon and always wanted to return to visit Hawaii and see the sites for himself. He was born and raised in Brigham City, Utah and was a very, very, very energetic boy. He burned through more energy by breakfast than most of his peers went through in 2 days. His grandmothers used to say,” I wish you have 10 kids just like you” to Robert’s parents. After he was born, they often said, “We got all 20 from him alone!” He suffered with Cerebral palsy, but he refused to let that hold him back and insisted on doing everything anyone else could and more. Growing up Robby fought constantly with his sister and brother, but he loved them and protected them vigorously to the point of getting sent to the principal’s office on occasion; a place he was not unfamiliar with. He was, however, very well-liked by the administration and his teachers throughout his education. He was very smart and could be disruptive, talk, and even miss class, then still end up with an A in the class. He obtained his Arrow of Light in Cub Scouts and was an Eagle Scout. He spent many years in the Order of the Arrow and held several leadership positions there.
Robert was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints and as a Deacon and Teacher, he loved doing Fast Offerings as going to his assigned members each month was a great opportunity to visit. He also really enjoyed taking the sacrament to home bound members seeing the joy it brought them and visiting with them. He loved service and never missed a service project. He taught himself how to play the organ practicing each week while at the church while his dad printed and folded the Sunday Program. Robert loved the outdoors, camping, hiking, and going on 4-wheel drive expeditions. He never missed a scout camp and even worked on staff at Camp Hunt for a summer. He loved music and started playing the violin and recorder in 5th grade and played around on many other instruments. He was often found singing while playing the guitar, his favorite. He had a passion for motorcycles and spent hundreds of hours riding. He went on many trips each year and participated in motorcycle memorial rides even in the freezing cold winter. He parked his car in the summer and traveled by motorcycle exclusively. He was involved in several motorcycle groups through the years and found some of his best friends in these groups through the years and found some of his best friends in these groups. He loved people and was always helping the people around him, whether he knew them or not.
He was known as Robby, Robert, Red, and R. Michael and was well liked by most people he encountered throughout his life. In school, he was the kid that was friends with everyone, popular or not. The school resource office once told his dad that Robert was a true friend with everyone: the good, the bad, and the ugly. He enjoyed working with his hands and was good at designing, fixing or building just about anything. He was good with people and leadership and held many leadership positions in scouts, at church, and during his working career.
He leaves behind his father Michael Allen; his sister JoAnna (Collin) Fox; his Brother David Allen; his Grandparents David and Maxine Thomsen; his uncles Tim (Candy) Thomsen and Miles (Lisa) Thomsen; his aunts Janet (Ron) Bown, Penny Young; his nieces Mable and Penelope Fox; and his girlfriend Claire Sagendorf.
He has been reunited with his mother Julie Allen; his sister Shawnie Allen; his grandparents Archie and Doris Allen; and uncles Chris Young and Mikel Rhoades.
