Robert “Rob” T. Allshouse (PopPop), 77, passed away peacefully at home after a six year courageous battle with esophageal cancer on June 18, 2025.
Born in Akron, he was a longtime resident of Springfield Township. He graduated from Field High School and served in the United States Marine Corps, from which he was honorably discharged as a Corporal after 3 years. Rob retired from maintenance at Mactac after 33 years of employment, 32 of which he had perfect attendance. He was a member of the Mogadore VFW, Akron Turner Club, and Rubber City Model A Club. Rob enjoyed hunting, fishing, model A cars, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He leaves behind the love of his life with whom he spent 53 years of marriage, Beverly; sons, Jeremy and Joe (Betsy); daughter, Sarah (Mark); grandchildren, Blake and Sydney Hillyard, Hailey and Hunter Allshouse.
The family would like to send a special thanks for all the nurses of Summa Home Hospice.
Family and friends will be received Friday, June 20th from 5 to 7pm at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312. Military honors will be presented at 7pm.
