Robert "Murphy" P. Anderson Troy, NY Robert P. "Murphy" Anderson, 80, died peacefully at home beside his loving family on Wednesday May 21, 2025. He was born in Troy on August 24, 1944, the son of the late Floyd and Helen Whitney. Murphy was a lifelong resident of Lansingburgh and a graduate of Lansingburgh High School. Robert went on to serve in the United States Air Force Security Service in Peshawar from 1962-1966. He was employed at Grand Union for over 30 years and was well known as your friendly pizza delivery guy from Jimmy's Pizzeria for over 20 years. Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia Anderson and his four siblings; Charles Anderson (Carol), Kenneth Anderson (Julie), Margorie Carbonneau (Gary), and RoseMary Cosgrove. Robert loved his Mets and Dolphins, but not as much as his family. He is survived by his children Peggy Castle (Charles, Jr.), Frank Lewandusky Jr. (Lynn), grandchildren Charles Castle III (Meaghan), Nicole Vorce (Michael), Frank Lewandusky III (Nancy), seven nieces and nephews, as well as eight great grandsons. Robert is also survived by James Farley, Anthony Buchanan, and the rest of his Jimmy's Pizzeria family. Robert "Hoppy" "Murphy" Anderson lived one day at a time and always tried to make someone laugh each day, he will be forever missed. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 28th at 10 am from the Frank P. McDonald & Son Funeral Home 870 Second Ave. (124th & 125th Streets) in Lansingburgh. Friends are invited and may call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm.
