Robert Howard Anderson was born in Oberlin Kansas on September 24, 1950 to William Howard and Anna Ruth (Shafer) Anderson. He passed into the arms of the Lord in Spring, TX on August 4, 2024, after a short battle with cancer.
Bob lived his childhood in Hoxie, Kansas with his parents and two older brothers and an older sister. He graduated from Sheridan Community High School in 1968, and went on to North Central Kansas Tech in Beloit, Kansas to study the operation of heavy equipment. This knowledge brought him to Texas for a construction project in George West. He quickly developed a fondness for Texas weather and decided to settle permanently in Spring, Texas. He operated the tower crane during the construction of Terminal C at Houston International Airport.
Despite the milder winters compared to Kansas, he found that inclement weather still occasionally interrupted his work. Seeking a more stable occupation, Bob transitioned to a career as a Mortgage Loan Officer, spending his final professional years at SWBC Mortgage in Spring, Texas.
Bob was known for his impressive stature and warm personality. He was a gentle, generous individual who readily gave to those in need and was deeply loved by his family and friends. Bob enjoyed lending his nephews his sports cars for their high school dates and delighted in hearing his young niece affectionately call him "knuckle Bob." He loved entertaining his family with his animal impressions, especially his memorable elephant sound.
Bob was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Dale Anderson of Northglenn, Colorado, and Larry Anderson of Salina, Kansas as well as a nephew, James Anderson of Northglenn, CO.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Maxine, and her sons-Jacob (Delia) Forgy of San Antonio, Jeremy (Jackie) Forgy of Spring, and Dustin (Lexie) Forgy of Kansas-and their families. Bob is also survived by his daughter, Kelli Bowles (Darin) of Lindsborg, and her family; his sister, Kaye Hird (Carroll) of Conroe, Texas; sister-in-law, Norma Anderson of Salina, Kansas; as well as many nieces and nephews who adored him and will miss him profoundly.
A graveside service will be held in the Hoxie Cemetery, Hoxie, Kansas at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 27, 2025.
