Robert T. "Bob" Antkowiak, 85, of Peru, passed away, Wednesday morning, November 12, 2025 at Allure of Peru.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at St. Valentine Church, Peru with Rev. Gregory Jarzombek, OSB officiating. Burial will follow in St. Hyacinth Cemetery, LaSalle. Visitation will be 11-11:50 AM Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru.
Bob was born January 25, 1940, in Peru, the only child of Thomas and Helen (Urban) Antkowiak. He graduated from St. Bede Academy in 1959 and was a member of St. Mary Church, Peru. He married Holly Morrow on July 25, 1996 in Reno, Nevada. Bob was employed at American Nickeloid for 42 years, retiring in 2002.
Bob was an active member of the LaSalle-Peru Elks where he served as Grand Exalted Ruler and he and his wife co-chaired the Elks Euchre Club for 15 years until the closing of the club. They then co-chaired Bingo for five years through the LP Elks at the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle. Bob joined the Princeton Elks where he served as a trustee until the club closed. Bob was a member of the Train Collector's Association and the National Rifle Association. He and Holly loved to travel and volunteer on Saturdays at Friends of Strays in Princeton.
Bob is survived by his wife of 29 years, Holly Antkowiak of Peru. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Lyle (Kathleen) Morrow of West Chicago, a sister-in-law, Norma (Gerald) Dugdale of Aurora; six nieces and nephews; ten great-nieces and nephews; and two great-great nephews with two more on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Joyce Donahue.
Bob had many pets over the years and is further survived by his cat, Maizy. He loved them all!
