Robert Arcement Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Louisiana Funeral Services & Crematory - Broussard on Mar. 10, 2025.
New Iberia – Robert "Bobby" Joseph Arcement Sr., 87, passed away unexpectedly at his home in New Iberia on March 2, 2025. He was born on November 27, 1937, to Joseph Arcement and Camilla Thibodeaux Arcement.
Bobby was married to the love of his life, Bessie, for 60 wonderful years. A proud veteran, he served his country for seven years. He was a member of United States Army 101st Airborne Division with over 177 jumps under his belt. Later embarking on a long and dedicated career in the oil and gas industry. A hardworking and devoted provider, he was a man of quiet strength who always put his family first, his love for his family was always felt in the way he cared for and supported them. Though he was a man of few words, Bobby was a jokester and always had a good joke waiting for you. A gifted self-taught auto mechanic, he had an incredible ability to fix just about anything.
He is survived by his sons, Robert Arcement Jr. and Troy Arcement, both of New Iberia; and his daughter, Valerie Blanchard (Michael) of Cypress, Texas. Known as "PawPaw Bobby," his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him so much joy, and filled his heart with endless love. He is also survived by his brother, Harry Arcement of Loreauville.
Just three days before his passing, Bobby lost his beloved wife, Bessie. We knew his heart longed for her in her absence, and in his passing, he proved to us their love was truly eternal.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Camilla Arcement; his sisters, JoAnn Rivette, Hazel LeBlanc, Gloria Vincent, and Doris Campbell; and his brothers, Edward and Minus Arcement.
Bobby's love, strength, and unwavering devotion to his family will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
