Robert Lee Armstrong

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Lee Armstrong, 95, of Monroe, LA, will be  at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 24, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA, with Dr. Bill Dye officiating. Interment followed in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA.

Mr. Armstrong was born June 25, 1929 and passed away November 21, 2024. He was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church and of Sonny Standifer Life Group. He worked as an instrument technician at International Paper Company for 44 years. He was also a member of the United States Air Force and served during the Korean conflict.

Mr. Armstrong loved to travel in his motorhome and square danced for many years all over the United States and Canada. He enjoyed keeping an immaculate yard and was an avid football fan, especially of the Dallas Cowboys.

Mr. Armstrong is preceded in death by his parents, Doc and Stella Armstrong; and his parents-in-law, Purnell and Ira Sexton; brother, Charles Armstrong; and a very special son-in-law, Mike Copeland.

Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Betty Jo Armstrong; daughters, Lynn Copeland and Jann Armstrong; grandsons, Andrew Copeland (Brittany), Jeremy Copeland (Sara), Chad Copeland (Lindsey), and Chris Copeland (Melissa); and great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Myles, Olivia, Remy, Charlotte, Cody, Layne, Parker, and Carson.
