Robert Armstrong Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Melson Funeral Services - Long Neck Chapel on Dec. 19, 2025.
Robert M. "Bob" or "Bert" Armstrong, Jr., of Millsboro, DE, and formerly of Abingdon, MD, passed away unexpectedly on December 12, 2025. Born in Baltimore on December 29, 1955, he was the son of the late Robert and Betty (Smith) Armstrong.

Bob graduated from Patterson High School in 1974, continued his studies at Harford Community College, and devoted thirty eight years of service to the Maryland State Department of Transportation, Highway Division.

Bob's warm, funny, and kind spirit made him unforgettable. He loved the Lord and had a remarkable gift for lifting the spirits of others, always ready with a smile or a joke. A true adventurer at heart, he found freedom and joy on his Harley and cherished every opportunity to travel. Bob was a proud supporter of charity motorcycle rides-especially Toys for Tots-always adding children's books to his donations, a reflection of his own love of reading. He also greatly enjoyed his time as a member of The Moose. The Baltimore Orioles and Ravens have lost one of their most devoted and enthusiastic fans.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Karen Armstrong; and his close friend and father in law, Frank Koczur. His dear mother in law, Joyce Koczur, passed just five days later.

Bob is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Deb; his son, Logan Garrett (fiancée Taylor Neuberger) of Crownsville, MD, with whom he shared a special bond; and his adored grand dog, Daisy. He will be dearly missed by his best friend and partner in mischief, Ray Perkins (Pat) of WV; close friends Randy Evans (Tammy) of MD and Russell Walto (Isa) of MD; sisters, Honey McElhaney and Barbara Beaghan, both of PA; brother, Victor Armstrong (Cathy) of MD; and many nieces and nephews.

A proud Gift of Life donor, Bob's generosity continues to touch lives.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Baltimore, MD, in the spring of 2026.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brandywine Valley SPCA, 22918 Dupont Blvd., Georgetown, DE 19947, Charity Rides or to your local library.

We just found out about the great loss you are experiencing. Bob, what can I say.. one of a kind. Funny, kind, gentle, loving. A great guy who I am sure will be dearly missed. We were blessed to have met him and our children spent many times with him, Deb and Logan. Our boys always miss "Uncle Bob" in the past years that unfortunately we were not able to see him. But we never have forgotten the love and kindness from Bob and Deb throughout thr years. May God Bless the whole family and friends , may the Lord meet Bob and bring him to paradise to enjoy his final reward. Job well done my friend Bob.. until we meet again.. may Deb and Logan find strength in their faith. We are here for you anytime.. love and prayers

So sorry to you Deb, Logan and Taylor. Bob had an easy laugh and loved to joke around. And he cherished his family. He will be truly missed. Prayers for your strength.
