Robert Edwin Arthur, 98 of Vero Beach, Florida went home to be with his Lord Monday July 21, 2025.
Robert was born in Rings Island, MA on November 17, 1926 the son of the late Irving Samuel Arthur
and Edith Marie MacDaniel. He was preceded In death by his sisters Alice Arthur, Muriel Arthur Dow,
and his brother Richard Irving Arthur.
Bob grew up on Rings Island trapping and fishing as a youth to help support his family.
In 1944 Bob joined the US Navy underwater demolition team during World War II, after training in
Fort Pierce, FL, and was discharged in June of 1946.
After his time in the service he returned to Rings Island for 10 years working at Raytheon and CBS. He
moved to Texas in the early 1960's where he worked at Texas Instrument for 13 years. After Texas
Instruments Bob was self employed. He worked in the construction business, shipping, firewood
company, real estate and finally the investment business, which he enjoyed until his final days.
On August 23, 1986 Bob married Beverly Elaine Ervin in Richardson, TX. They shared 39 wonderful
years together. Bob and Beverly moved to Florida in 1996, living in Fort Pierce and Vero Beach ever
since.
Bob leaves behind three daughters and one son, Karen Arthur Summers (Gene) of Waxahachie, TX,
Sharon Arthur Webster (Ron) of Plano, TX, Cindy Arthur Laymoun (Jay) Rockwell, TX and one son
Robin Arthur of Plano, TX. He also leaves behind a stepson Michael C. Fry (Leah) of Mountville, SC, as
well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bob will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
