With great sadness, we announce that Robert F. Astringer passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, following a long illness. Bob was born on November 11, 1952, in East Orange, NJ, to Robert F. Astringer and Catherine Astringer (née Flannigan).
He is survived by his beloved wife of many years, Lynne “Cookie” Astringer; his stepson, Dean Hamilton, and his partner, Vicki Trickett; his nephew Artie Astringer, his wife, Sarah; his son-in-law, Sergio Peguero, his wife, Sapana Peguero, and their children, Aurelia and Augustine, whom he adored; and his much-loved grandsons, Julian and Justin, who were truly his pride and joy.
He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Sheila Astringer Sr, and is reunited in Heaven with his cherished daughter, Casey, to whom he was deeply devoted.
After a long career in banking and finance, Bob retired and spent the remainder of his life in Flemington. He was a loving father and grandfather, a man of great integrity, and known for his kindness and generosity. He will be deeply missed by all who were privileged to know and love him.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, January 16th at 10AM at St Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church in his honor.
