Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Robert J. Baehser, Sr., 83, affectionately known as Bob, Moose, and Poppy, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, April 7, 2024.
Born July 29, 1940, Bob was a proud life time resident of Croydon. After graduating from Delhaas High School in 1957, Bob was employed by Acme Markets. At 21, he met his beloved Roe and they married in 1961. They were married for sixty three years only separated for eight weeks, as Roe recently passed in February. They purchased a home in Croydon Manor and raised their family.
Bob was the epitome of a great Dad. He always prioritized his family above everything else offering support and encouragement. There was never a problem that we couldn't get through together. It was a given, Dad was walking that journey with you and whatever you needed, he was there.
Bob's life was a testament to the values of hard work and commitment. He dedicated 53 years to Acme Markets as the Dairy Manager. In later years, he transitioned to a cashier position. He had many "regulars" who would wait in a long line just to chat with Bob.
When the grandchildren came along, Bob had a new role as Poppy, and it seemed Dad found his true calling. All his love, time, and devotion went into spending time and supporting the grandkids.
Bob was known for his sense of humor. He enjoyed going to the movies and was an avid reader passionate about American history, specifically military. He enjoyed being the labor that maintained Roe's Victorian garden. You could always find Bob in his favorite places, the garden, sitting on his porch, at the library or at a yard sale. Attending his grandchildren's sports and activities was always icing on the cake and his biggest joy. Bob was a mild manner man yet everybody knew and loved Pop.
Bob was predeceased by his wife Roseann (ne Fudali), son Daniel, and his siblings, Barbara, Joseph, Charles, and Susan.
Cherishing his memory are son, Bob Jr. (Denise), daughter, Cindy Walsh (Bill), and grandchildren, Carly (Jake), Chaz, Kevin, Brielle, Bobby, and Brady. Brother Mark Baehser (Debbie), Sisters, Joan Bellerby (Harry), Ceil Kehm (George), Annie Chrostek (John), Jeannine Campbell (Rick) and Sandy Patton (Bill).
