Robert Banka Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by All-States Cremation - Westminster on Jan. 30, 2025.
Robert (Bob) Banka, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully due to complications from a traumatic brain injury. He was born on November 30, 1950, in Conrad, Montana, to Tom and Joyce Banka. Raised on the family farm in Brady, Montana, Bob learned the values of hard work and family from a young age.
After graduating from Brady High School in 1968, Bob further pursued his education at Eastern Montana College in Billings. He began his professional journey working in the offices of trucking companies in Billings, where he developed a lifelong passion for the industry.
In 1975, Bob married the love of his life, Peggy Straw, and they enjoyed a beautiful partnership for 49 years. The couple moved to Denver in 1977, where Bob continued to make his mark in the trucking field and expertly prepared tax returns for 36 years.
Bob's interests extended far beyond his professional life. He was an avid golfer and a talented woodworker who took pride in creating beautiful pieces for his family and friends. He was also a devoted fan of the Denver Broncos and Colorado Avalanche, immersing himself in the joy of soccer and hockey, sharing these passions with his children and grandchildren.
Tragically, in 2013, Bob suffered a traumatic brain injury that left him disabled. Despite this life-altering event, he remained a loving presence in the lives of those around him, always finding joy in the moments shared with his family.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Peggy; son Brian (Erika); daughter Mari (Zach); grandsons Keegan, Jackson, Kaden, and Jordan; and Sisters Karen Stanley and Deanne Cotter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Joyce Banka.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held at a later date. Bob's warmth, humor, and love for family will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
