Robert Bardo Obituary

SENECA FALLS- Robert L. Bardo, 90, of Seneca Falls, died at Pathway Home of the Finger Lakes on Tuesday, July 30th, 2024 with his sons by his side.

Calling Hours will be on Tuesday (August 6) from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Interment will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery. Donations in memory may be directed to the Pathway Home of the Finger Lakes at pathwayhome.org or to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.

Bob was born in Junius, N.Y., the only son of the late Clayton and Martha (Grabbatin) Bardo. On September 17th, 1955, he was united in marriage with the former Eleanor Forjone. He attended local schools before starting his career working at the Seneca Army Depot. He worked there for over 40 years before retiring in the early 1990's. In his early years he had helped manage the ice skating rink in Seneca Falls before health issues forced him to take a step back. Bob enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, motorcycling, and was an avid gardener. He was well known in the area for his Adirondack style tete-a-tete's that he sold or gave away to family and friends. Bob was well liked by many and was known for his easy-going personality. He was also very committed to his family and very involved with his grandchildren growing up.

Bob is survived by his two sons, Bruce (Rebecca) and Brian (Regina) Bardo; grandsons, Adam (Jackie Young), Brandon (Leah), and Christopher Bardo; great-granddaughters, Ruby and Cameron Bardo; several nieces, cousins, and a nephew.

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife, Eleanor; two sisters, Barb Muller and Helen Bardo; niece, Wende Muller.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Anne and Patti, his home health aides and the staff at the Pathway Home of the Finger Lakes; both for their exceptional care of Bob.

So sorry for your loss Bruce & Brian...the Bardo house was always a welcome spot in our high-school days, as long as mom had her Hersheys chocolate. Bugs was a great guy.
