Robert H. Bares, a devoted father and self-employed hard worker, passed away on July 13, 2025, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the age of 77. Born on August 24, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Robert was a native of the city, demonstrating the strength and resilience of his character as he relocated post-Hurricane Katrina.
Robert's education included his time at Moody Bible Institute and Dallas Theological Seminary. He took pride in writing Bible lessons that were used in chapels at prisons. An individual who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, Robert had a passion for cooking, especially Italian cuisine, which he often shared with family and friends. His caring nature extended beyond the culinary arts; he was particularly fond of animals, embodying a spirit of kindness and nurturing in all aspects of his life.
Above all, Robert was a loving and caring father.
He is survived by his son, Nathan Stephen Bares, and his former wife and friend, Faye Halligan. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Bertrand Bares and Myra Veters Bares, as well as his beloved Granny Bares.
A graveside service was held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans.
