Thomas “Alvin” Golden, 73, passed away peacefully on the evening of February 10, 2026. A resident of Baton Rouge, Alvin was born in Houma, Louisiana, on July 22,1952, to Margie and Rueben Golden.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 40 years, JoLynn McGhie Golden, who he loved more than anything in this world and was the center of his life. His five children Melanie, Leigh Ann, Mandy, Opal, and Ryan. Along with his twelve grandchildren, each of whom he adored. He is also survived by his siblings, Chester and Brenda.
For more than 30 years, Alvin worked in the oilfield industry all over the world, specializing in directional drilling. His work ethic, knowledge, earned him respect wherever he went. In his younger days, Alvin loved spending time at the gym, the place where he first met JoLynn. He had a passion for anything fast: cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Alvin also loved sharing his enthusiasm for shooting with anyone willing to listen and loved when he could bring his kids and grandkids to the range. Another favorite pastime was building model planes, which he took joy in gifting to his grandchildren.
Alvin had an unforgettable personality and left a mark on everyone he met. He was a prankster with a quick wit and a gift for making people laugh, especially his grandkids. More importantly, he made each of them feel special and deeply loved. In his final years, he found comfort in discovering his faith.
Per Alvin’s wishes, he will be cremated, and there will be no formal service.
