Robert Owen Barnes, Jr. "Bo", age 76, passed away in the comfort of his own home on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on April 24,1948 to his parents, Robert Owen Barnes, Sr. and Margie Alidene Barnes, both have preceded him in passing. Bo graduated Peru Central High School of Peru New York in 1968 and later graduated from Alexander State Junior College of Alexander, Al in 1978. He earned a good conduct medal serving in The United States Marine Corps where he served in the Vietnam War in the 3rd Marine Division. Bo wore many hats in the last few years working as a united steel worker and a Union Leader for National Standard, ABC Rail and a Truck Driver for Morris Shea Bridge Co.
Bo enjoyed watching old western movies, comedy and Law and Order. He was a natural critic and specialist with undeniable knowledge of western movie history. Bo was a Volkswagen specialist and mechanic. He was a simple loving and devoted family man with immaculate humor and dedication.
Bo is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Owen Sr., and Margie Barnes; daughter, Tracie Lee Taylor; brother, Joel Wayne Barnes; sister, Wanda June Barnes "Sissy"; his beloved and cherished travel partner and pet, Pumkin; and several other family members. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosa Dawson Barnes of Summer Hill, Al; daughter, Crystal Gail Barnes; son, William Owen Barnes; grandchildren, Brooklyn Mayle Leatherwood, Davis Ogara Leatherwood (Madison Leatherwood), Carrington Seydi Taylor, and Caroline Trudie Taylor; great, grandchildren, Jeziah Drake Ward, Sadie Kate Leatherwood, Jesse Daniel Wise; and loving pets, Little Tater and Miles.
A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Columbiana Recreation building from 1pm to 4 pm. (194 Washington St, Columbiana, Al, 35051)
