Larry E. Barnes Jr, 54, of Rochelle passed away Monday April 14, 2025. Larry was born in Rockford, Illinois at Swedish American Hospital on October 2nd, 1970. He was born to Larry Sr and Sharon Barnes. He went to Rochelle Township High School. He was a forklift operator at Ryder in Rochelle. He enjoyed his job and loved the people he worked with. Larry was a great dad and an even cooler grandpa! He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends and made everlasting memories. He was charismatic and made friends everywhere he went. Larry was the type of person who would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. He would go out of his way to help the people he cared about! He was adventurous and loved the outdoors. He was a diehard San Francisco 49ers fan and would tell you he bled red and gold! Larry enjoyed making people laugh and seeing smiling faces. He will be missed dearly and will be remembered by all.
Larry is survived by his sons Larry III and Tylor (Alexis) Barnes; his daughter Sabrina (Clay) Barnes; several grandchildren Zoey, Lilith, Hayden, and Jackson; brothers Earl Barnes and Roy Fultz; and his significant other Laurie Ankeny-Kramer.
He was preceded in death by his parents Larry Sr and Sharon Barnes; his brother Edward Fultz, sister Wanda Bucci, and son Austin Barnes.
Please join us celebrating his life on Friday, April 25th, 2025 at Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Home, 704 N. 6th St. Rochelle, IL 61068 from 12:00 – 4:00 PM. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 3:00 PM then Pastoral services will follow at 3 PM. Arrangements were entrusted to Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Home.
