Robert A. Barron, 76, of Hilton Head Island, SC passed away peacefully on Monday July 14, 2025 in the care of Hilton Head Medical Center after a brief illness.

Robert was the devoted husband of the late Karen (Trowell) Barron.

Robert was born in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania on August 21, 1948, to the late Ambrose J. Barron and Catherine "Jean" (Boyle) Barron. He was raised in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania graduating from St. Mary's High School. He relocated to Hilton Head, South Carolina after attending King's College and Kent State University.

Bobby was a lifelong student and educator, dedicating most of his life to help South Carolina students achieve their goals. Robert will be remembered for his lifetime love of baseball, his dogs, and for his razor-sharp wit. Bobby's wry sense of humor will be greatly missed by friends and family alike.

Robert is survived by his sister, Kathleen Hartz and husband Joseph of Marion Center, Pennsylvania, nephew Joseph Hartz & wife Jamie of Alexandria, Virginia, niece Kasi Hartz-Kepple and her husband Kody, of Marion Center, Pennsylvania, niece ZoEllen McCrary of Furman, South Carolina, and grand-nieces, MaryHarrison McCrary & Evelyn Kepple, and grand-nephews Joey & James Barron Hartz, Crew & Ford McCrary, and Liam Kepple.

A gathering to celebrate Robert's life and to greet Robert's family will be held Friday, July 25 from 1pm to 3pm at The Island Funeral Home. All are welcome. A private ceremony for final repose will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Robert's memory to the Hilton Head Baseball Association, HHBA, PO Box 7481, Hilton Head, SC 29938 or your local Little League.

Finally, do not be troubled for too long of his passing. All he would want is for you to renew your library card, read The Great Gatsby, and watch The Great Escape.
