Robert Forest Bass
Bob was born to Dena Mae and Willie Bass in Nacogdoches, Texas on March 9, 1945. While attending Nacogdoches High School he played football graduating in 1963.
Bob earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin where he belonged to Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Upon moving to Dallas, he entered the tire/after market automotive business and founded Bob Bass Tire Company in 1976. He sold his business to Vogue Tyre and Rubber Company in 1991 and continued working in the automotive industry until his retirement in 2014.
Always kind and compassionate, Bob never met a stranger. His sharp wit, comedic antics, and East Texas colloquialisms will be sorely missed. He was truly a one-of-a kind guy. Bob's hobbies included traveling, golf, and spending time with family and friends. He was a proud member of FUMCR since 1978, a Paul Harris Fellow Rotarian, and a member of the Plantation Golf Club ROMEO's. He belonged to the NGP Social Club which travels extensively attending concerts and gathering memories for a lifetime. Bob will be most remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, Poppy, and friend.
He is survived by his wife Linda; daughters Kim Corey (Doug), Breck England (Derek), and Blaire Beathard (Steven), along with stepson David Goins (Mandi); grandchildren Cameron Corey; Jocelyn and Grayson England; Sloane, Drake, and Dax Beathard; and Ashton, Dalton, Lyndon and Maddin Goins. He leaves behind his brother Jimmy Bass
(Kay) and sisters DeeAnn Foley and Martha Bass; numerous nephews and nephews; and his friend of 80 years Mike Johnson. Bob will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.
The family would like to thank Dr. Avesh Verma, Friend's Place of Richardson, Three Oaks Hospice, and Heritage House of Allen for their kind and compassionate care.

Bob was my good friend and golfing buddy. We shared many enjoyable outings at Windstar, where we had a great time on the golf course. A few years ago, we started a small group of golfing friends who would meet at Jack Carter Pool in Plano to chat and order pizza. This marked the beginning of our monthly get-togethers, which eventually expanded into a larger group that enjoys dining at different restaurants. We now call ourselves the ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out) group.

I'll miss you, Bob.

I lost my very best friend , and adopted brother. Bob and I have known each other since birth and I loved him like a brother. We have shared a lifetime of good things and bad things but I always knew he had my back and I had his. Rest easy my friend and we will see each other again one day.

Bob was my first cousin. Our mothers were sisters. While growing up I probably spent as much time with Bob and his family as I did with my own. Bob had a unique sense of humor and was the comedian of the family. His daughters and grandchildren's lives have been greatly enriched by his enfluence. I love and miss you cuz.
