He is also survived by his brother Kenneth Beckemeyer (Cyndi), brother in law Jerry Colton (Sharon), and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his son Dennis Michael Beckemeyer (September 30, 2024); his sister Kathryn Brain; his parents Robert and Marguerite Beckemeyer; his father in law Clarence Colton; mother in law Ruby (Nelson) Gray; sister in law Shirley (Colton) Crumley; brother in law Lawrence Crumley; and nephew Jeffery Scott Crumley.
Bob and Diana were married on April 22, 1966, at St. James Catholic Church in Ferndale, Michigan.
He attended Lawrence Tech and Wayne State University then computer training with IBM. As his accounting role with the Alfred Taubman Company in Oak Park expanded, he became the head of their data processing center, developing and building the division as computer technology rapidly grew.
In 1974, Bob and Diana moved their family to the then small town of Fenton building a home high on a hill on 10 beautiful acres just south in Tyrone Township. Bob was active in Scouting with his sons and later coached Little League baseball as all the children grew up playing ball. He eventually began a career in real estate, working his way from sales agent to broker.
Bob loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed baseball, boating, swimming, water skiing, reading the Bible, writing, and-most of all-making lists in his daily journal. In retirement, he and Diana traveled throughout Michigan, Kentucky, Arizona, California and Florida spending cherished seasons at Briny Breezes near the ocean with best friends Omer & Teri Welty and later living for a time on the Gulf of "America" in Boca Chica, Texas, now home to SpaceX.
They returned to Fenton in 2008 to apartment living, purchasing their final home on 6th Street in 2016. Bob took great joy in working outdoors, tending the yard, and spending time in his big garage refinishing furniture and tackling projects.
He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
