Robert Becker, age 84 of Oxford passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at the Montello Care Center. Robert was born in New York City, NY on July 8, 1941 to John and Melitta (Moeller) Becker. He graduated from Aviation High School in Long Island City, New York and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force as a Military Policeman. Robert was united in marriage on March 21, 1965 to Betty Ann Janess in Maywood, New Jersey. Throughout his working career, Robert had several different professions from car sales to funeral service. They moved to Florida in 1972 where they raised their 2 children. They relocated to Oxford in 2005 to be closer to family. He enjoyed spending time with his family as well as fishing, playing cards and was always an avid sports fan. Robert will be remembered for his very funny one liner jokes and his immense love for his family.
Robert is survived by his wife, Betty and two children: James (Amy) Becker of Portland, OR and Sheryl (Daniel) Thornton of Oxford as well as four grandchildren: Brittney (Will) Emanuelson, DJ Thornton, William Becker and James Becker Jr. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren: Kristina and Zackery, sister, Carol (Larry) Pope, sister-in-law, Ursula Becker and many other extended family members.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Lynn Marie, brother, John and brother-in-law, Robert (Inez) Janess.
Per Robert's request, there will be no funeral service but a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
