Robert, Bob, Dad, Pops..left us too soon on October 30, 2024, and will now be joined with his beloved wife Carolyn, who died in 2017. He is survived by his daughter Pamela and her wife Jane Beckvagni, his brother John and his wife Marie Beckwith, his close sidekick of more than 20 years; Sammy his cat, as well as his niece and nephew, sister in law, many loving extended family members from Jane's family and many, many, friends. Bob had a lengthy and full life and lived every day of his 82 years to the fullest. He loved talking, learning and being with people.
Bob's business career was spent mainly in sales, marketing and direct marketing. In semi-retirement he enjoyed working at the Visitor's Center in Lexington, where he became the Center's historian. During Bob's life, he was an avid skier. He became a certified professional ski instructor (PSIA) and spent several years teaching at Nashoba Ski Area.
Bob was a founding member of Pilgrim Congregational Church in Lexington, MA. As an active member over the years, he spent a great amount of time on the church council and served multiple terms as the church's moderator. Pilgrim Church was very important to him and a large part of his life's purpose. He founded the Forever Pilgrim's Fund, which is a fund to support the future life of the church.
Bob was a graduate from Nichols College and an active alumnus. He created the Robert E. Beckwith 64' Endowment Scholarship. This endowment provides money for students who have experienced a positive turn around in their grades from high school to college. His endowment was also something in his life that he was very proud of and dedicated his later years to providing the financial resources to many students.
Pops was a loving dad who spent a lot of time with both Pamela and Jane. He loved to go away on day trips with them or share in a meal. He was a great support to both and loved them very much.
His Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday November 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. followed by a gathering to honor Bob's sweet tooth! Join us at Pilgrim Congregational Church 55 Coolidge Avenue in Lexington. Please bring your favorite dessert.

A private burial and spreading of his ashes will take place at a later date.
