Robert E. Belcher, 87, formerly of Nadeau, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Christian Park Village in Escanaba.
He was born on June 30, 1938 in Grundy, VA, son to Lee and Gertrude (McClanahan) Belcher. At a young age, Robert moved to Chicago and worked for Sko Die Inc.
Robert married the former Della Booth in Chicago, IL and they shared over 60 years of marriage. In 1976, they moved to Nadeau where they raised their three sons, James, Robert, and Joe.
In his younger years, Robert loved drag racing, building engines, and building and riding motorcycles. Following his retirement in 2001, he has enjoyed coffee clutching and taking leisure rides.
He is survived by his wife, Della of Gladstone; sons, Robert Belcher (fiancee, Ashley Kleikamp) of Nadeau and Joe (Beth Ann) Belcher of Wells; grandchildren, Austin Kleikamp, James Belcher, Jr., Drew Belcher, James Belcher, Kobe Belcher, and Kaiden Belcher; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Cathy Sturgill and Debbie Terry; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James; brother, Buck Belcher; sister, Patsy Belcher; and step brother, Johnny Terry.
The funeral service for Robert will be on Friday, January 30th at 5 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba. Pastor Lewis Hague will officiate the service. Family will receive friends and relatives beginning at 4:45 p.m.
Burial will take place in Nadeau Twp. Cemetery.
