Robert E. Bell, 76, of Tyndall SD went to be with the Lord on October 19th, 2024 surrounded by loved ones at Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton.
A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 25 at Goglin Funeral Home in Yankton. Visitation begins at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held in the Elk Point Cemetery, Elk Point, SD.
Robert, the son of Ira and Flo (Huntsman) Bell, was born on April 6th, 1948 in Red Oak, IA. In March of 1968, Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served during the Vietnam War. During that time Robert received many honors. Years later Robert met the love of his life, Sharon P. Hughes. They united in marriage on June 30th, 1989 at the church where he was a deacon in Sanger, Texas. During their life together, they enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing and spending time with family. Robert worked for Baldwin Filters in Yankton for 15 years, retiring in 2013. He then spent his days with his best friend, Bella Mia (his dog) by his side, watching westerns.
Robert is survived by his wife, Sharon; their two kids, Paula and Tim; 7 grandkids, Lacey (Derrick), Amber (TJ), Kyla (Dustin), Russell, Caterina, Aiden and Hannah, along with 14 great-grandkids, whom he cherished and loved spending time with.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Flo Bell; his grandma and grandpa, Anna and Fred Huntsman as well as his mother-in-law, Harriett Wilde.
