Robert Bensinger, a devoted father, brother, and retired Navy Chief, passed away on November 12, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was 64 years old.
Born on July 6, 1961, in Washington, D.C., Robert was the son of Robert L. Bensinger and Theresa Bensinger. From an early age, he demonstrated a strong sense of duty and commitment-qualities that would define his life and career.
Robert served his country with honor and distinction as a Navy Chief. His dedication to the United States Navy was unwavering, and he took great pride in his service. Throughout his military career, he exemplified leadership and integrity, earning the respect of those who served alongside him.
Beyond his military accomplishments, Robert was known for his deep compassion and unwavering support for those he loved. He was a loving father to his two sons, Robert Bensinger and Jefferey Bensinger. He also embraced his role as a stepfather to Shelly Johns, Brooke Vasquez, Bailey Helton, and Bethany Dail with warmth and care.
Robert shared a close bond with his sisters Kathy Bensinger and Sue Burkett. His family extended to include three cherished grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews who brought joy to his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Bensinger and Theresa Bensinger.
Those who knew Robert remember him as a kind-hearted man whose presence brought comfort and strength. He had an innate ability to make others feel valued and supported-a true testament to the love he carried for family and friends alike.
Robert's legacy lives on through the lives he touched with his generosity of spirit and steadfast devotion. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
May his memory bring peace to those who mourn him and serve as a lasting reminder of a life lived with honor and love. A Graveside Service will be held on November 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Jacksonville Memory Gardens 111 Blanding Blvd.
